Progetto Fuoco 2026: Exploring the evolution of biomass heating
Every two years, there biomass heating sector comes together to meet, exchange views and tell its story as a whole. It is a moment when technologies, supply chains and expertise engage in dialogue, offering a clear snapshot of the state of the art and of future trajectories. From 25 to 28 February 2026, that moment is once again Progetto Fuoco.Organised by Veronafiere, the event has established itself over the years as the leading international exhibition dedicated to biomass heating, and as a global benchmark for the entire wood- energy value chain: from technologies – stoves, fireplaces, boilers, wood- and pellet-fired cookers – to components, from biofuel production to forest mechanisation.
AI and energy processes: a new frontier Among the highlights of the 2026 edition is a new startup area dedicated to the application of artificial intelligence to energy and industrial processes. This space broadens the traditional scope of the exhibition, showing how digital expertise is increasingly becoming part of the sector’s core. From predictive plant management to balancing energy demand and supply, from smart maintenance to environmental impact analysis and supply chain optimisation, a wide range of concrete and innovative solutions will be presented, helping visitors navigate a rapidly evolving landscape.
AIEL conferences and professional workshops Alongside the exhibition area, Progetto Fuoco further strengthens its role as a platform for dialogue and discussion through a comprehensive programme of conferences, seminars and technical workshops. As the technical partner of the event, AIEL – the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association – will offer a full calendar of meetings running throughout the fair, addressing the main regulatory, technological and market issues affecting the sector.
European Pellet Forum: Progetto Fuoco at the heart of the European debate The international profile of the event is further enhanced by the European Pellet Forum, organised by AIEL in collaboration with the European Pellet Council and with the support of Bioenergy Europe. For the first time, the Forum will take place in Italy, in Verona, as part of Progetto Fuoco. Scheduled for Friday, 27 February 2026, the event will bring together European professionals from the pellet value chain for a discussion on markets, supply chains, EU policies and technological outlooks.
Progetto Bosco: where the value chain begins The journey ideally concludes with Progetto Bosco, the thematic area dedicated to forestry and forest mechanisation, set up in the outdoor spaces in front of the exhibition halls. Here, the wood-energy value chain is presented starting from its point of origin, through operational tests and live demonstrations of forestry machinery in action, allowing professionals to directly assess technologies, performance and solutions for sustainable forest management.
